And Jesus, being full of the Holy Spirit (Ghost), returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, and for forty days was tempted by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward when they were ended, Jesus of Nazareth hungered.
And the devil said unto Jesus of Nazareth,
“If you be the Son of YHVH (YEHOVAH), command this stone that it be made bread.”
Jesus answered him, saying,
“It is written:
Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word of YHVH (YEHOVAH)’”
And the devil, taking Jesus of Nazareth up onto a high mountain, showed unto Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto Him, “All this power will I give you, and the glory of them; for this has been delivered unto me, and to whomsoever I will, I give it. If you therefore wilt worship me, all shall be Thine”.
Jesus answered and said unto him,
“Get you behind Me, Satan!
For it is written:
"You shalt worship the YHVH (YEHOVAH)
your Almighty,
and YHVH (YEHOVAH) only shalt you serve”
And he brought Him to Jerusalem, and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple and said unto Him,
“If you be the Son of YHVH (YEHOVAH), cast yourself down from hence".
For it is written:
‘YHVH (YEHOVAH) will send His angels charge over you to keep you,’
and,
‘In their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time you dash your foot against a stone”.
Jesus answering said unto him,
“It is said,
‘You won't tempt the YHVH (YEHOVAH)
your Almighty”.
And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from Jesus of Nazareth for a season.
And Jesus returned in the Power of the Spirit into Galilee, and His fame went out through all the region round about. And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all. And He came to Nazareth where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read. And there was delivered unto Him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:
“The Spirit of the YHVH (YEHOVAH) is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the YHVH (YEHOVAH)”
And Jesus of Nazareth closed the book, and He gave it again to the minister and sat down. And the eyes of all those who were in the synagogue were fastened on Him. And Jesus of Nazareth began to say unto them,
“This day is this Scripture fulfilled in your ears”
