Christ Jesus, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that He feared, though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered.
And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all those who obey Him, being called by God as a high priest after the order of Melchizedek!
But covet earnestly the best gifts,
and yet show I unto you a more excellent way.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
Love suffers long, and is kind; Love envies not; Love vaunts not itself, is not puffed up; doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
For now we see through a glass, darkly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; but then shall I know, even as also I am known.
And now abide faith, hope, Love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Jesus of Nazareth said,
In this manner therefore pray you:
Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be your Name.
Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Your is the Kingdom, and the Power and the Glory for ever.
Amen.
